Why The Taylor Made R7 Driver Is Another Technological Breakthrough
The Taylor Made r7 driver represents yet another technological breakthrough from the game's premier innovators. By using a combination of ports in the back of the club head, and cartridges which plug into those ports, it is possible to redistribute weight to suit the conditions in which the driver is being used, and to suit the individual golfer. There are a great many amateur golfers who have spent many years playing the game with equipment which, if scientifically tested, would prove to be sub optimum for them.
The Taylormade r7 driver goes beyond even correcting this deficiency. It allows the user to continually experiment with different weight settings and launch conditions, to find the one which is right for them. Depending on how unsuitable the original club was, this simple change in equipment could lead to a huge gain in distance. Even professional golfers whose equipment has always been selected after many hours of testing have found that they can add to the average length of their drive, simply because of the ability to adjust the weight in the middle of a round.
The The Taylor Made r7 driver comes complete with a tool known as a trajectory wheel, which is used to determine which weighting option is needed to provide the required trajectory. Once this has been determined, the cartridges can be inserted into the ports. The club comes with two ten gram cartridges and two two gram cartridges, allowing for the different distributions of weight. By positioning the ports at the very bottom of the rear of the club head, the center of gravity is kept as low as possible.
The Taylor Made r7 driver can be bought with four different lofts, ranging from 7.5 to 10.5 degrees. It comes with a graphite shaft, although there is the option of having a custom shaft as well. This is driver which is designed with the professional in mind, but which will allow any golfer of reasonable standard, who is capable of reproducing the same swing consistently, to achieve superior results.
For the handicap golfer at a lower level of the game, there is another version of the r7 which may appeal. If the intricacies of weight distribution are a little out of your league, but you are suffering from the slice which is all too common among high handicap golfers, you can consider the r7 Draw Driver. This unique club has a huge titanium head which is weighted towards the heel and the rear of the club. This allows the club to have a natural tendency to draw the ball from right to left. If you are among the legions of slicers out there, why not give this relatively cheap solution a try? It is not, of course, as good a solution as curing a swing fault, but for the casual player there may not be enough time available to really attack the problem. The r7 Draw Driver may be a good stop gap solution. Whichever level of the game you are at, you can improve your game with a Taylor Made r7 driver.
