Why Taylor Made Golf Equipment Continues To Lead The Way

Taylor Made golf equipment continues to lead the way, and consistently outsells the competition in both amateur and professional golf. The reason for this is simple – Taylor Made leads the way in development and innovation, and consistently allows golfers to achieve better results than they could with a competitor's club. Thirty years at the cutting edge of technology has helped Taylor Made establish a reputation as an innovator which is thoroughly deserved, and which is backed up by results. There is no sign that the consistent development and improvement of golfing equipment is going to end any time soon.

The most significant of all Taylormade golfing advances was the one which launched the company all those years ago. Woods had always been made of wood, until Taylor made introduced the first metal wood. Despite the inherent anomaly in the name, the product proved highly successful as it gave the golfer increased control. Lee Trevino's US PGA victory helped to establish the brand and the technology in public eye, and handicap players were quick to seize on the advantages the new technology could give them. This was a way to quickly reduce your handicap without improving your game.

The success of Taylor Made golf equipment brought the inevitable result, as the corporate raiders began to swoop. A takeover by a French company, Salomon SA, gave Taylor Made increased exposure in Europe, and a far greater share of the golfing equipment market worldwide. The metal wood technology was quickly copied by other manufacturers, but none have managed to eclipse Taylor Made's position as the market leader. Expansion quickly came into every other sector of the golf equipment market, and it was soon possible to play golf with a full range of Taylor Made equipment.

The recent innovation which has changed the golfing world again is the introduction of the rescue club, an innovation which has virtually obsoleted the longest of the irons. Throughout most of the history of golf, there has always been a difficult choice to make when faced with a long range iron shot. The iron clubs always gave greater accuracy, but the ball needed to be hit with a flatter trajectory than with a fairway wood. The wood gave increased loft and a better chance of escaping from a poor lie or rough, but at the expense of a degree of control.

The rescue clubs devised by Taylor Made have solved this problem, by providing the characteristics of the wooden clubs in what is basically an iron, with an iron-sized shaft and a high degree of control. These clubs have solved an age old problem for professionals, but the effect on the games of handicap golfers has been even more dramatic. The new Movable Weight Technology is again proving to be a huge success, and golfers at all levels are continuing to benefit from Taylor Made golf equipment.
